We’re partnering up with Kiva.org because we’re big-big fans of what they’re doing. In case you’re not aware, Kiva.org works like this..
Kiva lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses in the developing world. By choosing a business on Kiva.org, you can “sponsor a business” and help the world’s working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates from the business you’ve sponsored. As loans are repaid, you get your loan money back.
Given that entrepreneurship is a big component to what we’re doing at Twiistup, they’re an obvious fit. So here’s the deal. Between now and Twiistup 3 (Jan 16) we’re going to have a little contest. The individual and/or company that donates the highest amount of money to Kiva.org (via our registration page) will win a brand new Nintendo Wii system to be awarded at Twiistup 3. The contest is now officially open and will run until 10p on Jan 16 2008. The winner will be announced at 10:30p at Twiistup 3.
