Call for Proposals to Showoff at Twiistup 4 July 2008

Twiistup will be having it’s fourth LA gathering in July 2008. Everyone who touches the Southern California technology community is welcome to share, learn and celebrate. Twiistup events in 2007 attracted nearly a thousand attendees, including entrepreneurs, investors, media, job seekers, job providers, practitioners and people in a range of related fields.

Important Dates

• Proposal form due by: May 15, 2008
• Notification of acceptance: May 27, 2008
• Twiistup 4 Showoffs announced: June 2, 2008
• Twiistup 4: July 17, 2008

In this call, we seek proposals for:

Showoffs - one or more people presenting a startup or established company that will be accessible by the general public by July 17, 2008.

Twiistup Presentations are called Table Talk

A Table Talk consists of one or more people representing a startup, a computer or other device that can showoff the product and/or service, swag or other info that attendees can keep. The tables are open from 7p to 11p. Power and wireless internet access are provided.

In addition to Table Talk, we encourage each showoff to include a video about what they’re showing off for inclusion in our event video reel, website and promotional material.

Successful submissions will be judged on the following attributes:

• Contribution to technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, theory and community
• Value and appeal to Twiistup attendees
• Original, inspirational or thought-provoking content

We will notify presenters of successful and unsuccessful submissions by May 23, 2008. A showoff’s guide will be provided to help you maximize the success of your presentation
