<p>Not quite sure why they needed to transmit <a title="Jessica Yellin" href="http://www.cnn.com/CNN/anchors_reporters/yellin.jessica.html">Jessica Yellin</a>&#8217;s hologram to <a title="CNN Election Center" href="http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/">CNN</a>&#8217;s election center in NY but it sure looked cool.  <a href="http://vizrt.com/">Vizrt</a> and <a href="http://www.sportvu.com/">SportVu</a> made this possible with the help of forty-four cameras and twenty computers.</p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="344" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/thOxW19vsTg&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/thOxW19vsTg&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x006699&amp;color2=0x54abd6" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>
<p>Cameras on Jessica&#8217;s side were positioned at every angle and synched with cameras at CNN to give the 360 degree perspective.  While twenty computers crunch the data, it doesn&#8217;t actually transmit the hologram in front of Wolf.  Once the video feeds are merged together the TV viewers see the &#8216;hologram&#8217;.  Either way, game on for the holographic correspondents.  We&#8217;ll be installing a holodeck at Twiistup 5.</p>

<p>Excerpt: Macadaan’s Twiistups have the following skeleton: some showcase people, the attendees, the movers and shakers like Jordan, the bright-eyed, bushy-tailed start-up companies, the swanky venue, the libations, and then one special something — “the ‘twist’ in Twiistup” — to send it over the top. He brought in a guy to build robotic sculptures. One party featured Joseph Kosinski, director of TR2N. At another was Perez Hilton, who is rumored to make $40,000 a day on his gossip Web site. (BusinessWeek places Perez’s earnings at $110,000 a month. The $40K figure comes from what Blogads says it would cost to do a one-day advertising “takeover” of perezhilton.com.)</p>
